How to Open the Boot of a 2005 Bentley Continental GT 2 Door Dead Battery

In this Tech tip we guide you on how to open the Boot on a 2005 Bentley Continental GT 2 Door Coupe.

On the 2005 Bentley Continental GT 2 Door Coupe, the battery is located in the Boot. However, in most cases, the battery is dead before we can make a key to this car. Therefore, it is important to know how to open the Boot to put power to the battery.

To access the battery, you need to look in the Boot on the right side of the car, above the passenger tire behind the cover panel.

Once you have located the battery, you can proceed to get power to the car by opening the hood of the car. With the hood open, you need to pull straight up on the trim panel with the red arrows. (Image below)

Once the panel is removed, you will see a 30-star head screw with the blue arrow going to it. You need to remove this screw to get access to the air intake and jump-off points.

The next step is to remove the air intake to get access to the jump-off points.

After removing the air intake, you will see the positive jump point under the black plastic cover with the red arrow. You need to remove this cover to put the positive cable on. (Image below)

Now, you can hook up the positive and negative cables to power up the car and open the Boot. For the negative cable, I used the screw for the shock on the front passenger side under the air intake. (Images below)

With the power hooked up, you can now use the trunk release inside the car to open the Boot and put power to the battery. However, it is important to note that the points used under the hood should only be used to open the Boot. Before starting key programming, make sure to change the cables to the battery.
